Admission Process

Step-by-step guide for online admission
Call for admissions shall be advertised in prominent newspapers of national and regional repute through Information Ministry, Govt. of Sindh. Candidates can fill the online registration/admission form through the official website (https://umpk.edu.pk).
A valid email address and mobile number is mandatory to complete the registration process, as future correspondence may occur through email address and mobile number.

At the time of admission in merit list, bring original and two (02) copies of the following documents:

  • Four (04) Passport size photos dully attested with name and CNIC written on backside
  • Printed Application Form
  • Paid Challan in Original
  • Pass and Marks Certificates of S.S.C. (Matriculation) examination
  • Pass and Marks Certificates of H.S.C. (Intermediate) examination
  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or B-Form (if under 18)
  • Domicile certificate of applicant (or of parents if under 18)
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC)
  • IBCC Equivalence for A-level and O-level results
Important Notes
  • Original Pass, Marks and Transcript Certificates of selected/admitted candidates shall NOT be returned in any case.
  • Candidates who apply on basis of forged/fake documents shall be prosecuted under criminal law besides cancellation of admission.
  • Pre-Admission Entry Test slip will be sent to all eligible candidates on their given email addresses.
  • Appearance/passing in the pre-admission test does not mean the candidate is eligible for admission.

Rules & Regulations

Important rules for admission to undergraduate degree programs
1 Provisional Admissions
All admissions shall be provisional until approved by the competent authority.
2 Right to Cancel
The University of Mirpurkhas reserves the right to cancel admission of any candidate without mentioning any reason.
3 Zero Tolerance for Fraud
The University has zero tolerance for submission of fraudulent or forged documents or for misrepresentation of any kind by applicants. In case of provision of wrong or false information, the applicant shall be responsible, and the University reserves the right to cancel the degree of such a candidate, at any stage, who succeeds in getting admission by submitting forged/false document(s) or making false entries. Additionally, they may also be debarred for a period of three years for future admission and all payments made to the University shall be forfeited.
4 Domicile Requirement
Any candidate who desires to seek admission to any course of study in the university must be a Domiciled in Sindh Province.
5 Other Province Candidates
Candidates from other provinces may seek admission to any course of study in the university on prescribed quota. Applications for admission along with academic documents must be channeled through the Director of Education, Government of the concerned Province.
6 Document Verification
The marks certificates of previous examination of all the candidates shall be verified from the concerned boards/universities. The documents verification fees shall be charged from the candidates at the time of admission.
7 Eligibility Certificate
Candidate who has passed an examination from a university or a board other than Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mirpurkhas shall have to obtain the certificate of eligibility from the University of Mirpurkhas prior to his/her admission to any discipline. However, the Registrar may issue a provisional admission certificate if satisfied that the applicant is prima facie eligible for admission, AT HIS/HER OWN RISK AND COST and on the condition that he/she obtains a final certificate of eligibility within 30 days from date of admission.
8 Dual Enrollment Prohibited
No student shall at one time join or continue enrolled in the two teaching institutes/departments/centers/affiliated colleges of the university or any other university or affiliated college for two courses of study in the same or different faculties.
9 External Examination Restriction
Candidates admitted to any of the university discipline as a regular student shall NOT be eligible to appear at any of the university Examination as an EXTERNAL CANDIDATE simultaneously during his/her university studentship.
10 Add/Drop Period
The applicant would be considered for add/drop within one-week period after announcement of classes. No change of discipline shall be allowed afterwards.
11 Re-admission Policy
No student shall be re-admitted without the recommendation of and prior permission of the Vice Chancellor in case of his/her admission is cancelled due to any reason.
12 Admission Regulations
The admissions to various Bachelor courses of study shall be made in accordance with the Regulations prescribed for the purpose.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum requirements for admission to all degree programs
Minimum requirements for admission in Bachelor degree programs shall be Intermediate (Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Humanities, Commerce, Arts & FA/FSc or equivalent degree) in Annual Examination 2025 or earlier with at least the percentage specified below.
Candidates appearing/passing Intermediate in Supplementary Examination 2025 shall NOT be eligible. However, candidates who passed in supplementary examinations during the previous year shall be considered.

Regulations for Bachelor Degree Programs

Pre-Entry Test, Merit Calculation, District Quota & Reserved Seats
I. Pre-Entry / Pre-Admission Test
Pre-Entry Test is MANDATORY for admissions to all Bachelor's Degree Programs (4-years) whether as a regular student, Self Finance scheme, or any other quota.

The test will be based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) from HSC level subjects:

English Simple Mathematics General Science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computers) General Knowledge (Islamic Studies, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs) IQ
Passing marks for Pre-entry test is 30. Candidates securing less than 30 marks shall NOT be eligible for admission at the University. The university reserves the right to relax passing marks without prior notice.
II. Merit Calculation Formula

III. Marks Deduction for Improvers / Repeaters
  • 05 marks to be deducted if the candidate has appeared second time in H.S.C. Examination to improve division/grade.
  • 05 marks shall be deducted for each extra year beyond minimum period required for passing HSC after Matriculation.
  • Maximum 25 marks may be deducted.

  • Distribution of seats outside jurisdiction is based on equal distribution among rest of Sindh divisions.
  • Vacant seats from one district within jurisdiction will be allocated to waiting candidates from other districts within jurisdiction, based on merit.
  • In case of equal marks, selection will be based on marks obtained in pre-admission test.
V. Reserved Seats Categories

Employees Quota: Regular employees or their real sons/daughters/brothers/sisters/spouses shall be eligible to compete for reserved seats, provided they have 2 years of continuous regular service in the University (in-service, retired, or expired). Preference given to employees themselves, real sons/daughters, and spouse.
VI. Discipline Retention
  • Candidates who wish to retain/lock their selected discipline may do so by paying Rs. 200/- within 7 days from announcement of list.
  • Late retention fee is Rs. 2,000/- (penalty) subject to availability of seats.
  • Candidates who fail to register in earlier selection and want to be considered for waiting list must pay prescribed fee to retain their right.
