University History
The University of Mirpurkhas is a distinguished institution in Pakistan's Sindh province, established to serve as a beacon of higher education, research, and community development for the region and beyond.
Legislative Foundation
The University of Mirpurkhas Bill (PAS/LEGIS-B-08/2021) was introduced in the Sindh Provincial Assembly, laying the groundwork for a new era of higher education in the region.
Assembly Approval
The Sindh Provincial Assembly officially approved the University of Mirpurkhas Bill, marking a pivotal moment in the institution's journey toward formal recognition.
Governor's Assent & Official Recognition
The Governor of Sindh granted assent to the bill, officially recognizing the University of Mirpurkhas as an independent institution through Act No: XXXVI of 2023 of the Sindh legislature.
Message From Vice Chancellor
Establishment of this university in this region marks a significant milestone towards providing an opportunity to the people of less privileged areas including Umerkot, Khipro, Mithee and Tando Allahyar. The Universities around the world play a role of catalyst for bringing positive change in their respective societies.
This nascent organization in its initial phase envisions to provide a platform to the students and faculty members for academic excellence, innovative research, intellectual curiosity, discovery, critical thinking, skill development and industry and academia relationship. In all these endeavors we will ensure inclusivity by encouraging students from the far-flung area of the Mirpurkhas division to take admission. They will be facilitated with transport and hostel facilities so that no aspirant of higher education in this region should be left behind.
The new batch will be joining in 2026 we will offer them a diverse range of programs designed to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Our faculty members, renowned for their expertise and dedication, will inspire and challenge learners to reach their full potential.
We will think globally and act locally by taking our education beyond classrooms by collaborating with academia at the international level. The global perspectives may foster positive change in the faculty and students alike.
This alma mater will help students develop a well rounded personality. Besides academic activities, the learners will be involved in extra-curricular activities such as: sports, debating contests, declamation contests and excursions etc. Students at the Mirpurkhas University will find a great support system for career counseling and establishing various societies.
